Data retention
How long MySide keeps case data.
A case workspace is useful because it stays available when a process drags on. Retention is therefore designed around user control, support, recovery and security, while keeping temporary records only for as long as they are needed.

Retention summary
| Data type | How it is kept |
|---|---|
| Account data | Kept while the account exists and as needed for security, support, billing records and legal obligations. |
| Cases, notes and drafts | Kept while the case remains in MySide, including archived cases, so you can return to a long-running process. |
| Deleted cases | May be retained for a limited period so accidental deletion, support, security or legal issues can be addressed. |
| Evidence files | Kept with the case unless you remove the evidence item. Removing an uploaded evidence file deletes the stored file where MySide controls that storage. |
| Account verification and password-reset records | Kept only as long as needed to complete account access and security checks. |
| Assisted-start drafts | Temporary assisted-start records are kept for short support and safety review periods, then raw text is removed under retention rules. |
| Support emails | Kept as needed to answer the request, maintain support history and handle follow-up, security or billing questions. |
| Service records | Kept only as long as needed for service reliability, support, security and legal obligations. |
Deletion requests
You can ask about account or case deletion through MySide Support. Some information may need to be retained for security, billing, legal or abuse-prevention reasons.
What to avoid storing
Do not use MySide as a general document vault. Avoid adding passwords, card security codes, full medical records, unnecessary third-party information or material that is not relevant to the process you are managing.
